What happens during your English language homestay in Brighton
# During your English homestay course in Brighton, you will receive three or four hours of intensive one to one tuition each day, Monday to Friday. The content of the course is planned by your teacher after talking with you. Your teacher will ask you about your reasons for wanting to improve your English and will become familiar with your level of English. Your teacher will plan an English language homestay course just for you. No two courses are ever the same! She will make sure that your homestay is interesting, varied and at your level.
# Each morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will have tuition followed by an informal lunch. The experience is intense but there will be lots of laughter and learning.
# Your afternoons are free, allowing you to explore the vibrant city of Brighton. Alternatively we can arrange for you to swim, go to the gym, cycle or play golf. Your teacher will organise one outing each week for you and also give you lots of advice on the best way to explore Brighton and the surrounding area. Brighton is surrounded by the South Downs National Park – a beautiful place to walk and unwind after the hustle and bustle of city life. From the Downs, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Sussex sea and countryside.
# The evening meal is a very sociable time when you can practise your new language skills in a relaxed environment. There is always lots of laughter and conversation, often accompanied by a glass or two of wine.
The accommodation consists of an ensuite bedroom with double bed (137cm), an attached sitting room equipped with television, DVD player, coffee and tea making facilities and WiFi. Although you live as part of the family, you also have privacy which we find our students really appreciate.
With good transport links to Gatwick airport and London (50 minutes by train), this is the perfect place to study.
Your teacher’s house is in a quiet location which is 250 metres from the beach and about 1 mile from the centre of Brighton. There are regular buses to the centre of the city. You can walk along the seafront into Brighton or even borrow a bicycle and cycle into Brighton. There is a flat 20 km cycle track along the seafront from Brighton Marina to Worthing, the town next to Brighton. You can access the track approximately 200 metres from your homestay accommodation.
For students who want a more rural location for their English language homestay, we can organise a homestay located in Steyning. Steyning is one of the friendliest small towns in Sussex. There are lots of small shops, coffee bars and restaurants to explore when you are not studying. There is easy access to the Southdowns Way – a track across the beautiful Sussex countryside.
